Mert Erogul

Mert Erogul, MD is an emergency physician at Maimonides Medical Center who is convinced of the value of stories to shape how we encounter our work and other aspects of professional development.  He teaches humanities and medicine to students at SUNY Downstate School of Medicine.

Josh Schiller

Josh Schiller, MD is a core faculty member of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center.  He is a big believer in the power of stories, and encourages residents (as well as anyone else who listens) to read as many books as possible outside the profession to gain perspective and context to the work that we do.

Arlene Chung

Arlene Chung, MD is an emergency physician who once aspired to be a writer and now looks for ways to support the stories told by others, in Brooklyn, Burlington, and beyond.  

Nikita Joshi

Nikita Joshi, MD is an Emergency Medicine physician at University of California, Irvine with professional interests in medical education, simulation, and administration. Her passions include narrative medicine, storytelling in medicine, creative writing, and running after her three boys

Matthew Blair

Matthew Blair is our Airway Intern. He is a History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health major on the pre-medical track and earning his Master of Public Health through a 4+1 program at the Yale School of Public Health. Matthew is particularly interested in the intersection between the sciences and the humanities, with the understanding that medicine is not only a scientific pursuit but also a human art.
