There’s a particular species of human zeal, when man is doing the thing he was somehow, mysteriously, built to do, that operates almost like an emotional aerosol.  Those in its vicinity are a little more awake and engaged and alive.  Dr. Greene’s enthusiasm for snake bites is infectious in this way.
